What should I do if one of my pets is missing?

First, search the neighborhood. Ask your neighbors if they have seen your pet, provide a description and show a photograph. If your community has a web site or newsletter, ask your HOA if you can post information about your missing pet there. Also, provide flyers with accurate contact information, description and photo of your pet. Second, contact all local Animal Control offices within 60 miles and file a missing pet report. Visit the Frederick County Animal Shelter on Rosemont Avenue daily to see if your pet has been found. You should provide an accurate description and recent photo. Third, place flyers in nearby stores, shopping centers or activity centers with a description, photo and contact information.

Remember, all pets (even indoor pets) have a better chance of being returned if they are wearing an identification tag and collar that contains your name, address and phone number.
