Barn Cats Need Homes, Too!
The AWL adoption policy is that all cats which are adopted must be kept as indoor cats only. However, through our rescue efforts, there are times when we encounter cats which need barn homes. If you are looking for a barn cat/cats, please email.

We are helping with the "Pets Eat, Too" Project with Meals on Wheels of Frederick County
The Animal Welfare League “rescued” Chester the Chihuahua after he was given up at a local emergency vet clinic. Apparently Chester’s former owner got angry because Chester was begging for food and threw him across the floor, shattering Chester’s little leg. When the owner declined treatment and told the emergency vet to euthanize Chester, the kindly vet called us. Chester was taken into foster care and had surgery to repair his leg. The surgery cost AWL $1800 but without it, Chester would have been crippled and in constant pain for the rest of his life. Won’t you please help Chester by contributing to Chester’s Fund?
