Madge Grable We are pleased to announce the creation of the "Companion for Seniors Fund" in honor of AWLFC member, friend, volunteer and contributor Madge Grable who passed away in September 2003. This perpetual assistance fund is used to subsidize one senior's adoption fee per month when they adopt from the Frederick County Animal Shelter. There are many dogs, cats and small animals available at the shelter that would make wonderful companion animals for senior animal lovers. Our goal is to help assist local seniors who love the company of a pet and would benefit from ownership but may be on a fixed income and need financial assistance in order to bring a new friend home. Tax-deductible donations for this fund can be sent to our mailing address listed at the top of the page.
