WELCOME TO "BOOK BUDDIES!”
The Animal Welfare League of Frederick County (AWLFC), a non-profit, all-volunteer animal rescue, offers this FREE program that encourages young readers to practice their reading skills in a calm, supportive environment. AWLFC furry friends love hearing stories! Most importantly they never interrupt or judge, making this a perfect way for kids to build reading confidence and have fun with books. Whether your child is just starting out or already loves to read, this unique experience turns reading time into something magical. Come share a story, make a feline friend, and discover how fun reading can be!
No more than one reservation per day.
One child per slot (ex: if you have more than 1 child please sign up for multiple slots)
Children generally bring their own book(s). We will have a few on hand.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout reading session.
